According to Joseph Thomas, Head of Research at Emkay Wealth Management, the markets experienced volatility throughout the week due to various factors. These factors include official interest rates, the upcoming second Trump administration, and uncertainty surrounding regional conflicts. Thomas noted that the domestic equity markets have been impacted by a lower rate of economic growth, manufacturing sluggishness, liquidity deficits in the interbank market, and a significantly weaker Indian Rupee against the US Dollar. He believes that these factors will continue to influence market direction in the coming weeks.
