Mixed Sentiments in the Market

On Thursday, December 26, the renewable energy stocks showed mixed sentiments. While shares of NTPC Green Energy, Waaree Energies, ACME Solar, and Premier Energies were trading in the negative territory, Adani Green and KPI Green Energy stocks were in the green.

NTPC Green Energy Share Price

Shares of NTPC Green Energy, a subsidiary of state-owned NTPC Ltd, dropped by 5.23% to ₹126.05 apiece as the shareholder lock-in period ended. This means that certain shareholders were now allowed to sell or transfer their shares, causing a decline in the stock price.

What is a Share Lock-in Period?

A share lock-in period is a timeframe during which certain shareholders are not allowed to sell or transfer their shares. After this period ends, shareholders can sell their equity shares. This can lead to a temporary surge in selling pressure, causing the stock price to drop.

Waaree Energies Share Price

Waaree Energies stock was down by 1.16% to ₹2,835.50 per share on the NSE. The company’s Board had recently approved investment proposals worth ₹850 crore for setting up manufacturing facilities.

Adani Green Share Price

Adani Green Energy shares were up by 4.11% to ₹1,073.4 a unit. The market capitalization of the company stood at ₹1,70,030 crore.

Premier Energies Share Price

Shares of Premier Energies declined by 2.15% to ₹1,291.85. The company faced penalties for delay in disclosure of related party transactions.

KPI Green Energy Share Price

KPI Green Energy stock traded at ₹790.55 per share, reflecting an increase of 0.65%. The Chief People Officer of the company resigned from his post due to other professional commitments.

ACME Solar Share Price

Shares of ACME Solar Holdings were trading 0.36% lower at ₹235.55 apiece on the NSE. The company recently commissioned a total capacity of 1,023.05 MW in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan.
