Vodafone Idea(VI) is collaborating with industry giants such as Ericsson, Nokia, and Samsung to implement a groundbreaking three-year investment strategy, as stated by Moondra.
Vodafone Idea’s(VI) CEO, Akshaya Moondra, has announced that the telecommunications company is gearing up for a phased rollout of 5G technology. They are also set to introduce innovative and tailored tariff plans for their customers.
The company plans to launch its 5G services in the top 75 cities, with a focus on 17 priority circle cities and industrial hubs known for heavy data usage. Moondra expressed his excitement for the future in an email to Vi customers, promising blazing-fast speeds and unparalleled experiences.
Despite facing financial challenges, Vodafone Idea aims to introduce 5G with competitively priced plans that could be up to 15 percent cheaper at entry levels to attract more customers. Moondra revealed that Vi is collaborating with industry leaders like Ericsson, Nokia, and Samsung to implement a transformative three-year investment plan. By March 2025, thousands of new sites will be added to enhance connectivity and elevate the network experience.

In 2024, the telco added over 46,000 new sites and increased capacity at over 58,000 sites to improve network performance. They have also implemented Indoor Coverage Plus technology to boost indoor coverage and quality for users at home, in the office, or at a mall.
As Vi enters 2025, Moondra expressed gratitude to customers for their trust and support, promising exciting updates in the coming year. He credited Vi with building “India’s Best 4G Network,” as recognized by OpenSignal, a network testing service.
“Vi has demonstrated exceptional performance across all key metrics including 4G download and upload speeds, 4G video and gaming experiences, and 4G voice app calling performance,” he stated.
Moondra also highlighted Vi’s recent introduction of SPAM detection solutions aimed at enhancing customer security.
Vodafone Idea recently unveiled a strategic collaboration with premium streaming service Lionsgate Play to enhance Vi’s OTT offerings.
As of 12:58 pm, Vodafone Idea’s stock was trading at Rs 8 on the National Stock Exchange, reflecting a 1.52 percent increase from the previous close.”
